Back stage information
Sets are delivered to the shutter door which is reached by turning left at the theatre traffic lights and turning on to the path. The shutter door will be open at 9am and the Festival Crew will be ready to welcome you. Once sets have been offloaded your van must be moved to the Depot parking area. One of your members would have to follow the van in order to bring the van driver back to the theatre. No cars are allowed to park outside the theatre, all must be moved to one of the available car parks.
Right, your set is in and you have all signed in – now meet the crew.
Lyn Mison (Festival Stage Director), Shirley Cumming (Festival Stage Manager), Nigel Longley (Festival Lighting Director) and either Phil Vale or Pete Harman (Sound Directors) will be waiting for you. We will show you to your dressing room, show you where all the facilities are and let you know the programme for the day. Lyn would already have liaised with all groups regarding timing and licensing. Shirley will let you know where we will store your set (One Act plays). Some of the local drama groups have volunteered to mentor our visiting groups, so someone will be around to help you find your way about the local area, locate banks, food, or anything else you might require.
Stage Times
Full length plays get 8 hours (10am-6pm) stage time to build the set and cover other technical activities.
One Act Plays get 2 hours (10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm, 4pm-6pm) stage time, this will include building, sets, setting lights, testing sound and then dismantling sets to store in the scene dock until required for the evening performance.
During your stage times, Nigel will set any special lights that you have asked for in your technical requirements as. As these would already have been forwarded to Lyn, we should be aware of what you need.
Performances will start at 7.00pm
At the end of the evening the van will need to be retrieved so that all sets packed away. The Green Room Bar will be open after the performances, and we look forward to unwinding together.
We hope you will enjoy the British All Winners at Woking. We are here to help, please feel free to ask any questions and we will do our best to help. You can email us from the links on the Festival Crew page.
Most of all, have fun!
